About the Author

Simon Marshall was educated at Westminster School before reading History at University College London and going on to complete his Masters in Imperial and Commonwealth History at King’s College London.

His work for his Master’s degree has provided the inspiration and source material for both of his novels, The Long Drawn Aisle and The Passing Tribute. He has slowly begun the long path of research for his next novel, a conclusion to the trilogy, set in England and Eastern Europe in the early 1920s.

He has also for been trying to crack the screenwriting code with various projects for many years, and has recently adapted a Joseph Conrad short story.

Having spent a considerable part of the last 20 years living in France, where he has worked as a Real Tennis professional and writer, he now lives in London with his American wife and half-breed son. He has become increasingly involved in domestic politics and has stood for election twice since 2021. He continues to be actively involved in the Real Tennis world!
